What Time Clubs Close (and Open) in El Puerto de Santa María

In Andalusia a nightclub can stay open until 06:00 at the latest, or until 07:00 when it opens on a Friday, a Saturday or the night before a public holiday, under the Junta's Decree 155/2018. In El Puerto de Santa María, in October 2026, Banana is the only club that says it opens every day; Gold and La Cristalera open Friday and Saturday, La Cristalera Vistahermosa Thursday to Saturday, Guateque publishes its dates in its ticket calendar and Padreo is closed until its season. The legal closing time in Andalusia

Closing times aren't set town by town: the regional decree sets a maximum for each type of venue. Nightclubs and party halls count as “leisure establishments” (establecimientos de esparcimiento). Pubs and bars with music fall into a different category, “special hospitality venues with music”, and close earlier. That's why a pub-club like La Cristalera doesn't close at the same time as a nightclub, even on the same street. These are the limits in article 17:

The decree also limits opening times (article 18): no venue can open before 06:00, and nightclubs and pubs with music can't open before 12:00 noon. Keep in mind the table is a ceiling. Each venue's licence can set a shorter schedule, and within it the club decides when to close on a quiet night.

Which club opens each night in El Puerto

The days below come from what each venue says on its Instagram bio, and the hours from its Google Maps listing, both checked on 11 October 2026. Google listings aren't always up to date, and some contradict the venue itself, so when they disagree we trust what the venue publishes.

Put simply: from Sunday to Wednesday, Banana is the only club that says it opens. On Thursday you have Banana and La Cristalera Vistahermosa. Friday and Saturday give you every option except Padreo. Guateque sells its nights online, so the dates on sale in the calendar on its page are the ones that count.

What time the night really starts

The law tells you when a club must close, not when it gets busy. Going by Google Maps, Banana opens its doors at 23:00 and Gold and Guateque at midnight. The two Cristaleras are a different animal: they open in the afternoon (16:30 by the river, 15:30 in Vistahermosa) because they're tardeo places, and the night grows out of the afternoon. For a specific party, the ticket shows the time doors open and sometimes a different price depending on when you arrive, so read it before you pay.

Extended hours at the fair, Christmas and local festivals

Article 23 of the decree lets town halls extend closing times on an exceptional basis during popular or traditional festivities, Easter Week and Christmas, which for this purpose runs from 22 December to 6 January. There are limits: festival extensions can't cover more than 20 days a year, at Easter and Christmas the extension can't go beyond two extra hours, venues that use it must still close for at least two hours in every 24, and the town hall has to give notice at least seven working days in advance. In El Puerto, the Spring Fair is the obvious candidate. If the town hall approves an extension for Christmas or the fair, we'll add it here.

And after closing? About after-hours clubs

We haven't found any venue in El Puerto with activity in 2026 that works as an after-hours club. There's also a legal reason: under article 18, a nightclub in Andalusia can't open before 12:00 noon, so a club opening at dawn isn't allowed. In practice, the night in El Puerto ends when the clubs close, at 06:00 or 07:00 at the latest.

When the music stops: getting home

At closing time on a Saturday, everyone leaves at once and taxis are in demand. If you're staying in the centre, most clubs are a short walk from each other and from the old town. If you've come from Cádiz, Jerez or Seville, sort out the way back before you go out, not at the door at six in the morning.

Summer is a different timetable

The legal closing time is the same all year, but the days aren't. In summer 2026 Gold opened from Tuesday to Sunday from early July and every day in August, and the two Cristaleras opened every day (La Cristalera in July, La Cristalera Vistahermosa in August). Padreo, Grupo BanBan's seasonal club, opened on 30 June and stayed active until mid-August. The Puerto Sherry beach clubs have been closed since 6 July 2026. We'll update this table when the 2027 season starts.
