La Cristalera El Puerto: the Pub-Club on the Guadalete

La Cristalera isn't a nightclub in the strict sense, and that's exactly why a lot of people like it. It's a pub with a DJ, a dance-floor atmosphere and a large terrace over the Guadalete, on Plaza de las Galeras Reales. Grupo BanBan, which runs it, describes it as a reference for tardeo and nights out in El Puerto. Here's what it's like and how to make the most of it.

Where it all began

Grupo BanBan's timeline starts with La Cristalera in 2013 and the group calls it “our first venue”. From there came Guateque, the summer beach clubs, Padreo and a second Cristalera in Vistahermosa. So when you walk in, you're in the place that started one of the biggest nightlife groups in El Puerto. Not that it shows off: on Instagram it introduces itself simply as a “Pub by the river Guadalete”.

Days: weekends now, every day in summer

Its bio says it in capitals: open Fridays and Saturdays. That's the autumn and winter rhythm. In summer 2026 it was a different place: through July its posts kept repeating “we open every day”. If you're visiting outside the summer, plan for a Friday or Saturday night. Opening times aren't published, so if you need them for a specific day, ask us on WhatsApp.

Concerts are back

This is the news of the season. On 29 September 2026 La Cristalera posted “You asked for it. We were preparing it” and announced that concerts were coming back, asking who'd be in the front row. On 7 October it repeated it: concerts return to La Cristalera. Band names and dates are announced on its Instagram. A concert usually brings people in earlier than a normal DJ night, so if there's a band on, don't arrive at the last minute.

The atmosphere

The terrace over the river is what defines it. Its posts talk about letting “the night do the rest” and about “the best of the night” still to come, which sums up the plan: a first drink by the water that can turn into the whole evening. Tripadvisor lists it among the town's dance clubs, which tells you that people do dance here, even if the format is a pub. If you're not into big dark rooms, it's a good middle ground.

Getting there and planning the night

La Cristalera is on the riverfront in the centre, at Pl. de las Galeras Reales, s/n. It works well as the first stop: from here the rest of the centre is within walking distance, including Banana on Ribera del Marisco and Guateque on Plaza Juan de la Cosa. It doesn't publish a dress code or minimum age, so bring ID. Don't confuse it with La Cristalera Vistahermosa: same group and same idea, but a different venue in the Vistahermosa shopping centre, open Thursday to Saturday.
