Grupo BanBan in El Puerto: All Its Venues and Which Are Open

Updated:

If you've been out in El Puerto de Santa María in the last ten years, there's a good chance you've been to a Grupo BanBan venue. The group, whose motto is “Making history since 2013”, runs pubs, clubs, beach clubs and restaurants in El Puerto, Jerez and Seville. This guide lists all of them, says which are open in autumn 2026 and clears up a confusion that comes up all the time: which venues are not BanBan.

How it grew

YearVenues (group timeline)
2013La Cristalera
2015Guateque
2018PhiPhi, Blu
2020Playa Canalla, Puerto Chico
2021La Cristalera VH, Kamikaze
2023Padreo, Guateque, La Vega, Kamikaze SVQ, Chicken Makers

Guateque appears twice in the timeline, in 2015 and again in 2023; today it's at Plaza Juan de la Cosa. Chicken Makers is listed on the group's website as “soon”.

Open now in El Puerto

Guateque is the group's “first CLUB!”, on Plaza Juan de la Cosa, 2, with a playful design, phrases painted on the walls and mostly urban music, plus concerts and special sessions. It posted twice a week through September and October 2026. Tickets are sold online and you can buy them on its page here. On Instagram it goes by @guatequecopas, with the line “We love having you here” and the hashtag #lavidaesunguateque, and it also has a Facebook page under the same name. Third-party guides give a minimum age of 18 or 20 depending on the party.

La Cristalera is “our first venue”, from 2013, on Plaza de las Galeras Reales with a large terrace over the Guadalete. It's a pub-club known for tardeo and nights out. It opens Fridays and Saturdays and brought its concerts back in October 2026.

La Cristalera VH opened in 2021 in the Vistahermosa shopping centre, at Av. Juan Melgarejo, 29. It's also a pub-club, with views of the Bay of Cádiz and live music at weekends. It opens Thursday to Saturday. Next to it in the group's line-up is Kamikaze VH, a Japanese restaurant on C. del Vivero, 7.

Seasonal: Padreo and Puerto Chico

Padreo is the group's “latest CLUB!”, opened in 2023 on C. Bajada del Castillo, 1. BanBan describes it as a high-energy club with well-known DJs from the Spanish scene that opens in holiday periods and for special events. Its bio currently reads temporarily closed; in 2026 the season ran from 30 June to mid-August. Puerto Chico, from 2020, is a terrace on Avenida de la Bajamar overlooking the Guadalete, for relaxed drinks with background music. It hasn't posted since September 2025 and its bio says “see you soon”.

Closed since July 2026: the Puerto Sherry trio

Three of the group's best-known names were in Puerto Sherry: PhiPhi Beach (2018), its first beach club, with a different theme each day; Blu (2018), its tardeo club for a younger crowd; and Playa Canalla (2020), a tardeo reference for people aged 26 and over. All three closed at midnight on 6 July 2026, together with Margarita, when the Port Authority didn't extend the authorisation for the area. There's talk of a possible return in 2027, nothing confirmed.

Outside El Puerto

The group has also expanded beyond El Puerto: La Vega, in a landmark building on Plaza Esteve in central Jerez, for tardeo and nights with live music at weekends; La Sabática, a modern tavern on C. Genil in Seville; and Kamikaze SVQ, the Seville edition of its Japanese restaurant.

Not BanBan: Banana, Margarita and Gold

Plenty of listings get this wrong, so here it is clearly. Banana, on Ribera del Marisco, belongs to Grupo Banana, as its website footer says; the similar names cause most of the confusion. Margarita, the fourth Puerto Sherry venue, isn't on BanBan's list either. And Gold, on Avenida Micaela Aramburu, has no link to the group that we know of. If you're looking for one of these, use their own pages on this site.

What its venues have in common

Look at BanBan's Instagram accounts together and a pattern appears. Every bio is signed “by @grupobanban”, every post carries the #grupobanban hashtag, and several remind you that they reserve the right of admission. The model mixes clubs that open all season, like Guateque, with venues built around a specific moment: Padreo for holidays, the beach clubs for summer, the Cristaleras for tardeo. That explains why, in October, half of the group's names are closed while the other half are posting every week.

BanBan, Ban Ban or Bam Bam?

People search for it in every possible spelling: Ban Ban, BanBan, Bang Bang, even Bam Bam. They're all the same group, which writes its name as Grupo BanBan. What it isn't is Grupo Banana, the company behind Banana. If you landed here looking for Banana, its page with tickets and tables is linked below.
